GET INVOLVED! Volunteer! Donate! Advocate! The Annie Ross House and Northwest Housing Alternatives benefit from strong support in Milwaukie and surrounding communities. The shelter operates frugally using private contributions as well as state and federal funds. Families' basic needs - from food and personal care items to bed sheets and school supplies - are addressed with in-kind gifts and leveraged with cash contributions which pay for the shelter's operating costs such as case management, utilities and client transportation. Volunteers also play a key role. School groups, civics clubs, religious groups, individuals and corporate volunteers provide many hours of assistance to the shelter. Volunteers have welcomed Annie Ross House to the community through their hours spent on mailings, yard work, assembling personal care items, event and fundraising. The Annie Ross House can always use school supplies, clothing and food supplies. Unfortuantely our storage space is limited.
