Northwest Housing Alternatives first Scholarship Program!

Autumn Park Apartments in Wilsonville is Northwest Housing Alternatives’ largest family property, a home to over 400 residents. With all of the families at Autumn Park earning low incomes, NHA’s Resident Services staff work closely with residents to provide the services and programming needed to remain stable in their housing and connected to their community. While Resident Services aims to meet the needs of every age group at Autumn Park, with nearly half of the residents under the age of 18, education-oriented services and resources are fundamental to creating opportunities that will help our young residents succeed in life.

With this goal in mind, Resident Services worked with members of the Wilsonville business community to allocate funds towards a scholarship for Autumn Park students between the ages of 17-21. Thankfully, the reception from local donors and residents was enthusiastic, and Resident Services received a competitive number of applications to review. This short application process included two essay questions, their recent GPA status, and proof of enrollment at a post-secondary institution of their choice.

After reaching an arduous decision, an NHA review committee awarded the scholarship to Gabriela, age 20, who will be studying at Portland Community College this fall. Gabriela submitted an exemplary application; indicating previous volunteer work, expressing her passion for working towards a successful career in business, and eventually, reciprocating the support to her family that she has received from them.

We are happy and excited to award Gabriela the first Autumn Park Scholarship, and wish her the best!

Tea and Tour

Northwest Housing Alternatives provides homes to over 2,500 Oregonians in 1,658 units spread throughout 17 counties. We operate the Annie Ross House, the only family shelter in Clackamas County and prevent homelessness before it begins through our HomeBase program.

We offer informal “Tea and Tour” events to talk about who we are, the people we serve and what is going on in our community. Keep in mind this is not a fundraising event - you will not be asked to make a contribution to Northwest Housing Alternatives, it is just an opportunity to learn more about us.

To schedule a tour, call or email Mallory at anderson@nwhousing.org or 503.654.1007 ext. 109.

We can also set up a personalized tour for your group of up to 10 people. Please feel free to bring a guest!
